This was the last day of the Berlin Bienalle, so grateful that I made it a priority to venture to see it. Unbelievable space, complemented by amazing work. Afterwards made our way to Mauerpark, a huge flea market with lots of inspiration and super amazing leather goods, which was tempting not to buy!!!! Another amazing day in the books:)

Day 11....Open frame night
Tonight was my first international show! Open Frame night pop-up show was held at Somos gallery, beautiful space!! Great people and great wine! It was nice to see my painting shown amongst other fabulous pieces:)
DAy 10....Pecha Kucha, stitches and burnt avocado sauce
Pecha Kucha critiques with some amazing artists today! It was nice to have fresh eyes take a gander at work and give some amazing, insightful feedback. I actually showed my foil prints, they are kind of my 'secret project'! We all celebrated with a glass of prosecco:) Came home and removed my stitches which went smoother than expected and had intentions to make an amazing pasta dish with an avocado cream sauce, that ended up burning in the pan:( sad sauce. literally. Cooking on a hot plate is hard!

Day 9....light, drawing and fishy's
It was a magical day today, woke up to the sun shining and a perfect temperate. The lighting as the sun rose was incredible! It was a nice segue into my drawing class today. For someone who hasn't drawn anything in detail for the sake of drawing in 15 years or so. It was nice to get back on the horse. Who knows might just become a sketch artist....not really:) Had some time and got groceries, found my favorite treat in America, gold fish crackers! Really, can't beat that sequence of events.

Day 8...feedback
Today was the day to meet over proposals and studio practice. I don't know if I have ever felt so invigorated to create. The unbelievable amount of support and feedback has changed things for the better. In this situation, you realize that there are really others out there that GET IT! As soon as I was finished with my meetings, I couldn't help but to see the subject that inspires all of my work. COLOR!
Day 7....friends and apples
There is an intimacy created between artists and fellow MFA's as you learn to incorporate text into a visual. A comfort that even when you are not in the class setting you still look for dialogue of art and ideas....even over a realllllly good lasagna at our favorite little Italian cafe across the street from Uferstudios. We are not just creating ideas, but lasting friendships, as cliche as that sounds!
The first day we all sat around
our horseshoe seating arrangement, all of us whipped out our Apple products, or maybe 3! HA!

Day 6....First day of the rest of my life
Today started a new level of artistic practice. The beginning of something new is definitely been born and am extremely grateful for the position that I am currently in. Continuing to grow as an artist and develop my theories and studio regiment is taking place at the same time that the old artistic is left behind to use a point of reference in the future. Uferstudios is where this is all happening:)
